Fiberglass Repair in Fullerton, CA

Also Serving Brea, Yorba Linda, La Habra, Anaheim and Surrounding Cities

Not every body shop is capable of repairing fiberglass panels on your car. Fiberglass repair must be properly performed, in order to restore the appearance and integrity of the vehicle’s body – shortcuts lead to short life of the product. After a comprehensive assessment of the damage, we’ll be ready to begin.

First, we’ll remove the gelcoat down to the fiberglass mat in all the areas needing repair. Then we precut the pieces of mat, often in various thicknesses, that we’ll be using in the repair.

We prepare the resin in 4 to 6-ounce batches, as the resin can set up relatively quickly and gets harder to work with as it thickens. We apply layers of fiberglass mat to first the interior surface, then the exterior, and coat them thoroughly with resin.

We can repair holes, cracks, and even strengthen weak spots. For cracks or large holes, we temporarily attach braces to ensure proper surface alignment before applying mat and resin. We also work to maintain a uniform thickness with the rest of the fiberglass panel.

When the process is completely cured, we sand down to a smooth finish, then apply gelcoat finish to the exterior surface. After the gelcoat has thoroughly cured, sanding and painting then completes the process.
